Dear Friends,

            As October approaches, churches around the nation set aside time to celebrate their Pastors the all month long for Pastor Appreciation. The Bible tells us that Pastors are charged with watching over their congregation’s souls and will stand before God, giving an account for how they led their ministry. Pastors are there for us on the greatest milestones of our lives; weddings, graduations, baby dedications. They’re also with us on the most challenging days of our lives; funerals, hospital visits, and so much more. I have watched my parents take their duty and vows with the upmost importance. Striving to always live honorably and with conviction, they continually dedicate themselves to studying the Word to deliver a message that is in season and Heaven-born. They take the time to pray for their partners and your family daily, with Love as their loudest message and what unites us as a ministry.

            1 Timothy 5:17 (AMP) states, “The elders who perform their leadership duties well are to be considered worthy of double honor (financial support), especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching [the word of God concerning eternal salvation through Christ].” That is why we make sure to set aside time every October to show our appreciation to our Pastors. I can’t speak on every pastor, but I know ours are the best around. They are true shepherds with a heart for God’s people and dedicated completely to Him.

            Showing appreciation can take many forms such as faithfully attending services, a note expressing your gratitude, monetary blessings, gifts, or whatever the Lord leads you. This year I would like to send our pastors on a cruise that I know they will enjoy. It has been a number of years since we, as a ministry, have sent our pastors on a nice vacation, and I ask that you prayerfully consider sowing towards this Pastor Appreciation gift. The total cost for the cruise, as well as some spending money, will total $7,000. This cruise gift will be a 7-day cruise with some of their best accommodations the ship offers. I know we have a very generous church and Pastors have been blessed every year beyond this amount, so I know we can accomplish this goal together. Remember, any amount helps us reach our goal and is very appreciated, no matter the size.

            If you would like to participate, specialized envelopes will be available in the foyer, as well as a QR you can scan to give directly to the designated fund. If you are set up with text-to-give, the code is “PGV”. Our special envelopes include room to write a special message to Pastors, so after you’ve filled it out, simply place your gift into the offering baskets at any time and we will designate it to the correct fund. Our goal is to have the entirety of the $7,000 by Sunday, October 12th, so you may give towards this goal digitally or in person until then.

 

We will give an opportunity to sow towards this gift collectively at the end of service on Sunday, September 7th and October 5th. Lastly, please save the date for our special Pastor Appreciation Service on Sunday, October 19th during our morning service. We would love to have you join us as we celebrate our pastors.
